The cast of the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 The film is the most extensive in Sega’s cinematic universe to date.

While Sonic 2 introduced the audience to two more intergalactic creatures with superpowers: Idris Elba’s “Knuckles” and Colleen O’Shaughnessey’s “Tails”, the most important innovation in Sonic3 appears to be Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog – a genetically modified counterpart to Sonic and the main villain of the film.

Ben Schwartz-Sonic
Leading in Sonic3 Comedian Ben Schwartz once again stars as the iconic Sonic the Hedgehog. Schwartz brings the Blue Blur to life on the big screen for the third time, this time taking on the villainous Shadow the Hedgehog to stop the fearful antagonist from exacting his revenge.
Sonic is an intergalactic hedgehog with superpowers who accidentally travels to Earth in the first film, saves the planet twice from the devious Dr. Robotnik, and finds a family of his own in James Masden’s Tom Wachowski.
Schwartz is best known for his work as a popular stand-up comedian and improviser, as well as for his roles in hits such as Parks & Recreation, The after-partyAnd Bojack Horseman.
Idris Elba – Ankle
Knuckles (played by Idris Elba) is another colorful creature from across the cosmos, known for his warrior heart and spiked knuckles. After invading Sonic 2Learning that fighting is not always the answer, Knuckles joined Sonic and Tom on Earth as part of the Wachowski family.
The last time fans saw the character was when he headlined his own Paramount+ spin-off series (ankle), where the character joins bumbling cop Wade Whipple, played by Adam Pally, on a cross-country journey to find himself and (oddly enough) to bowl.
Elba’s previous roles include DC’s The suicide squadMarvel Studios Thor Franchise and HBO’s successful TV drama TheWire.
Colleen O’Shaughnessey – Tails
After the first allusion sound Film, the Blue Blur’s iconic video game buddy, Tails, made his actual debut in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Tails, voiced by Colleen O’Shaughnessey, is a charismatic yellow fox known for his spinning twin tails, technical prowess, and can-do attitude. In the trio of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, this adorable, nimble boy is there to bring warmth to every situation the characters find themselves in.
While the other CG sound The characters are voiced by new original actors, O’Shaughnessy is the only sound Video game actress set to play her character in the films. O’Shaughnessy, who fans may also recognize from her work in Danny Phantom and the Naruto Franchise, Tails has lent his voice to various projects since 2014.
Keanu Reeves – Shadow
Joining the film series as Sonic3The main antagonist of is the brooding Shadow the Hedgehog, played by Keanu Reeves. Shadow was first introduced in the post-credits scene of Sonic 2 and will receive an appropriate introduction in the upcoming third part.
He is the exact opposite of Sonic and tends to be more of a villain than a hero. Shadow is a human-created genetic experiment, also known as the ultimate life form, who goes on a quest for vengeance after the program that created him kills a young girl with whom he develops a bond.
Reeves has also appeared in box office hits such as John Wick Movies, The MatrixAnd speed.
Jim Carrey – Dr. Robotnik & Gerald Robotnik
After his performance in Sonic 2Jim Carrey is back in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as two characters. Carrey will voice both Dr. Robotnik (as seen in the last two films) and his father Gerald Robotnik.
Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik was a big part of the sound films from the beginning, where he is the mad scientist hell-bent on harnessing Sonic’s power. However, his Gerald Robotnik is new in the third film, an older scientist who is responsible (at least in the games) for the creation of Shadow.
Carrey has made a name for himself as a comedy king in his 30-year career in Hollywood. His best-known roles were in blockbusters such as Ace Ventura, Dumb and DumberAnd Bruce Almighty.
James Marsden-Tom Wachowski
James Marsden plays the sound The main hero of the film, Tom Wachowski, is once again Sonic3. Tom is a small town sheriff when he first crosses Sonic’s path. After several adventures with the Blue Blur, he adopts Sonic and his friends and helps them become the heroes they are destined to be.
Marsden’s previous achievements include Hairspray, Westworldand Fox’s X-Men Franchise.
Tika Sumpster – Maddie Wachowski
Tike Sumpster brings to life Maddie Wachowski, the matriarch of the Wachowski clan. She is married to Tom Wachowski (James Marsden) and is the surrogate mother of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, as the trio have been part of her family since their arrival on Earth.
Sumpster can also be seen in Southside with you, Ride alongAnd The old man and the gun.
Tom Butler – Commander Walters
Another important human figure in the sound The films feature Tom Butler’s Commander Walters. Walters began in the series as a commander of the United States Armed Forces, but was eventually promoted to leader of the Guardian Units of Nations, a task force responsible for protecting Earth from alien threats.
Butler’s other roles include Lautermilch, Chesapeake ShoresAnd Literally.
Lee Majdoub – Agent Stone
Any mastermind is only as good as his henchmen, so it’s no wonder that Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik struggled to get his evil schemes off the ground while Lee Majdoub’s Agent Stone was hot on his heels. Stone was a loyal follower of Robotnik and will surely be disappointed to see his leader fall from grace in this way. Sonic 2.
Majdoub can also be seen/heard in the other two sound Movies, The CW’s The 100and the Assassin’s Creed Mirage video game.
Adam Pally-Wade Whipple
Wade Whipple (played by Adam Pally) is one of the many police officers working under Sheriff Tom Wachowski in Green Hills, Montana. He is a lovable goofball who was most recently seen as the human lead in ankle where he realized his dream of becoming a bowling champion and discovered himself in the process.
Pally’s filmography includes appearances in Iron-Man 3, Dirty GrandpaAnd Pavement.
Shemar Moore – Randall Handel
Shemar Moore repeats his sound And Sonic 2 Role of Randall Handel in the third film. Randall is a former agent of the Guardian Units of Nations who chooses the love of his life (Maddie Wachowski’s older sister Rachel) over his duty in a complex plot that involves staging a wedding in order to capture Sonic and his friends.
Moore is best known for his role as Derek Morgan in the hit film Criminal Minds Series, along with roles in Shadow of Passion And SWAT
Krysten Ritter – Director Rockwell
One of the new human characters that Sonic3 is the mysterious Director Rockwell (played by Krysten Ritter). Rockwell is the director of the Guardian Units of Nations (aka GUN), an iconic Sonic organization known for sending Shadow into a rage after she killed the young girl he called his girlfriend.
Ritter joins Sonic3 from starring in hits like Jessica Jones, breaking BadAnd Don’t trust the bitch in Apartment 23.
Alyla Browne – Mary
Alyla Browne joins the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in the role of Maria, probably one of the most important characters in the upcoming third part. Maria, a young girl who is unfortunately afflicted by a fatal disease, is the granddaughter of Gerald Robotnik.
She develops a deep bond with Shadow, her grandfather’s creation, while he is in captivity. His creation is hopefully the key to saving the young girl. However, she is eventually killed when GUN possesses Shadow, sparking the hedgehog’s never-ending quest for vengeance.
Browne can last be seen in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga as Young Furiousa and is also in The Lost Flowers by Alice Hart And Piercing.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will be in theaters on December 20th.
