Katie Buhler, 33, was involved in a two-vehicle crash near a 7-Eleven on Murfreesboro Pike on August 27. When police arrived, Buhler was standing next to a 2013 Ford Fusion owned by her parents that had severe front-end damage. The other party involved in the crash told police he was struck from behind. Buhler told officers she did not remember what happened. Police noticed she had dumped many personal items on the road. Buhler stated she attempted to push them to the side of the road. Police noticed Buhler was showing signs of impairment, smelled of alcohol, was extremely emotional, and was crying while speaking with officers.

When asked, Buhler initially refused to take a breathalyzer test. However, she eventually agreed and performed poorly on the tests. After being informed of her implied consent, she refused to provide a breath sample. Officers then discovered an open and empty bottle of 12 percent Segura Viudas wine in a bag on her passenger seat. Buhler was read her Miranda rights and requested an attorney. Buhler was taken into custody on August 28 for driving under the influence and violation of implied consent.

Katie Buhler, of Wildwood Drive in Brentwood, Tennessee, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on August 28, charged with driving while intoxicated and implied consent. A judicial commissioner set her bail at $1,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office released her from the facility prior to trial.
