Women’s volleyball appears in the 2024 Division III AVCA/TARAFLEX national preseason poll

Springfield, Mass. – August 27, 2024 – When the Springfield College women’s volleyball team opens the 2024 season on August 30, it will be one of 44 Division III women’s volleyball programs from across the country to receive votes in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Division III national preseason poll.

Last fall, the Springfield College women’s volleyball team posted a 27-5 record, including an undefeated streak in the conference en route to the NEWMAC regular season title before advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division III championship tournament. This season, six starters return from last season, including four AVCA All-America honorees in Riley Donahue (South Windsor, Connecticut), Maeve Voltz (Bay Shore, New York), Natalie Billet (Commack, New York), And Tori Colosimo (Fairport, New York).

The Pride is one of 19 programs nationwide listed in the vote-receiver category of this year’s national preseason poll. Springfield receives votes alongside fellow New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) programs MIT and Babson and is one of five New England programs listed in the poll. Springfield will face MIT, Ithaca, Babson, Tufts and Stevens over the course of the season, all teams that receive national attention in the preseason.

Starting Friday, Springfield College will host the Joel B. Dearing ’79 Volleyball Classic, featuring Ithaca, Stevens, Rivier, Keene State and Westfield State.
