Senator Hoeven hosts meeting on US Postal Service in Grand Forks

(KNOX) – During a meeting about the U.S. Postal Service at Grand Forks City Hall Monday afternoon, Cecile Wehrman of the North Dakota Newspaper Association voiced the issues facing members of her organization.

“We don’t get the newspapers delivered the next day, we get them delivered seven to nine days later,” Wehrman said. “It’s frustrating when someone tells you that the documented responses you’re getting from your members are wrong based on their data.”

Mark Inglett, a strategic communications specialist at the U.S. Postal Service, said the complaints heard at the meeting need to be addressed.

“Just an opportunity to build that communication, build that bridge, that communication gap for everybody together. We’ve heard some concerns. We’ll obviously make every effort to make sure those concerns are addressed,” Inglett said.

The event was organized by John Hoeven, US Senator from North Dakota.

“It’s about making sure that we have people both here at the Postal Service and at the county level and even at the DC level who will work with us when we face a challenge that needs to be addressed,” Hoeven said.
