Neha Dhupia turns a year older on August 27. The actress and former Miss India married Angad Bedi in 2018 and now has two children together. However, when they got married in a secret ceremony at a Gurudwara, many were surprised by the sudden move. Here’s a look back at how Neha spoke about her ‘messy’ wedding in an interview with Film Companion. “He always had a piece of my heart”

Neha told the magazine that she and Angad “were never together” before their wedding. She also shared that their wedding came quite suddenly as her parents had booked a Gurudwara for the Anand Karaj ceremony. She said, “We were not together a single day of our lives. I swear! I am officially saying this here: We were not together a single day of our lives. We are friends and have seen each other in different relationships. He is a heart and then just before I left Roadies, I thought he is not bad, he is amazing. I love him. He always had a piece of my heart but not like this.”

Neha also shared that her parents met in New Delhi right after the “change” and that the next thing to do was to finalize a wedding date. She revealed that she called designer Anita Dongre for a last-minute outfit and rented the iconic pink lehenga that she wore on the special day. She called the whole thing a “mess” and stated that she was also a “mess”.

“Karan Johar told me something beautiful”

In the same interview, she revealed that her close friend Soha Ali Khan only came to know about her wedding because her father-in-law, former Indian cricket team captain Bishan Singh Bedi, told Soha’s mother, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore.

“I love and adore Soha, Angad and I am very close to her and Kunal (Khemu). We had 24 hours to invite people and we didn’t tell anyone. When she called me, I was in tears because my lehenga wasn’t there yet. I was late for my own mehendi and wedding because I was stuck in legal calls and couldn’t tell them that I was getting married. I didn’t expect the wedding to happen so soon, I had a long conversation with Karan (Johar). He said something beautiful, he asked me to watch it like the second half of a movie, that the best was yet to come,” Neha shared.

Neha gave birth to her first baby, Mehr Dhupia Bedi, in November 2018 and her second child, Guriq Singh Dhupia Bedi, in 2021. Neha was last seen in Bad Newz, while Angad was last spotted in Hi Nanna.
