Event 180, a new event and wedding venue, opens in Rochester, NY

A new venue for private events and weddings has opened in the city center: Event 180. It is owned and operated by Tapas 177.

Opening in May 2024, this venue features exposed brick walls, polished hardwood floors, and high ceilings.

“After 28 years at Tapas 177, we are excited for this new chapter,” said Demetrio Cavatassi, owner of Tapas 177 & Event 180, in a press release. “Event 180 gives us the opportunity to expand our offerings to larger groups in a beautiful venue directly across the street from the restaurant.”

In November 1996, Cavatassi and others joined forces to create Tapas 177, a unique experience in Rochester’s bar and restaurant scene. With a mix of urban and rustic European decor, guests have enjoyed a variety of cuisines, semi-public seating and a lively bar. Over the past two decades, guests have celebrated marriage proposals, bachelorette parties, baby showers and more.

Event 180 prices range from $600 to $2,000 and vary depending on the date, time and type of event. Venue rental also includes:

  • Venue Coordinator
  • 8 foot long farm style banquet tables (up to 8)
  • Golden Chiavari chairs with upholstery (up to 60)
  • High cocktail tables with ivory linen (up to 8)
  • Round white dinner plates, glassware and cutlery (included as standard)
  • Golden charger plates
  • Votive candles & candle holders
  • Assembly and dismantling of tables and chairs

There are no restrictions on the type of events that can be hosted, however space may be limited depending on the guests’ preferences. Event 180 can accommodate up to 80 guests for dinner and up to 135 guests for cocktail events.
