Whitefield Academy hosts a big day of service

Barry Krebs provided the following related reports and photos from Whitefield Academy’s Great Day of Service:

Early on August 24th, Whitefield Academy hosted their Great Day Of Service, supporting over 45 local nonprofits including Keep Smyrna Beautiful, Trees Atlanta, Our Giving Garden, Vision Rehabilitation Services, Keep Cobb Beautiful, and MUST Ministries. The morning began with songs of praise, worship, and words of encouragement. At 9am, the crowd split up to organize their pre-assigned projects. It was a very moving experience for all involved. All of us in Cobb County appreciate their willingness to volunteer and lead by example.

Krebs also submitted a report on Whitefield’s cleanup efforts at her Adopt-a-Mile project at Buckner and Pebblebrook roads:

One of the many projects completed during the Great Day Of Service was picking up trash along one mile of Buckner Road and one mile of Pebblebrook Road. Volunteers from Whitefield Academy spent their Saturday morning improving the appearance of their community. It was a great time to get a little exercise while also socializing with other Whitefield students and parents.

If your school or organization is interested in the Adopt-A-Mile program, please contact Dawn at [email protected] and she can provide you with all the details.
