If you have seen Dasha‘S Music video “Austin”, You know, it’s like a movie full of romance and very, very heated scenes of arguments.
This cinematic approach was what Dasha had in mind when she envisioned the “Austin” video and subsequently hired the musician and content creator Jxdn to be her co-star.
“I wanted the music video for ‘Austin’ to really follow the storyline of the lyrics because it’s so visual, and I just wanted to bring what I’m saying in the lyrics to life,” Dasha tells ABC Audio. “Since we relied on Jxdn as the lead actor, he and I got so into acting that it was just crazy. We really felt like we were on a movie set, and that’s how we wanted the music video to feel.”
“I wanted the film to be really acting-based, to actually tell a deep story and to feel like a short movie scene,” she says.
Dasha and Jxdn didn’t mess around with their scenes. If you were on set, you would have heard and felt the intensity of their emotions on camera.
“Acting with (Jxdn) was so much fun. After we were throwing towels back and forth and screaming – our hearts were beating so fast – after every take, he would say, ‘Are you good? You’re good, I love you, we’re good,'” Dasha recalls. “He’s the sweetest ever. But it was so much fun on set.”
“Austin” is at number 13 and continues its rise up the country charts. You can find it on Dasha’s debut album, What happens now?now available.
