Best Credit Unions to Work For, Ranked 1-35 | Credit Union Journal

Attracting the next generation of young professionals while ensuring a company is giving its current employees everything they need is a top priority for any forward-thinking leader. The leaders at the top of this year’s Best Credit Unions to Work For awards are launching new programs that do just that.

This year, 70 credit unions from across the U.S. made the list, from Railway Credit Union in North Dakota, with 25 employees and $181 million in assets, to America First Credit Union, with 3,327 employees and $20 billion in assets in Ogden, Utah.

The award winners were evaluated and ranked using the Best Companies Group in two surveys. The first survey was completed by employees to measure their satisfaction and covered eight areas, including leadership and planning, company culture and communication, and overall engagement.

The second form reviewed and weighed each credit union’s benefits and policies, including leading programs like free telehealth visits, employee recognition events, volunteer opportunities and more.

At companies that made the list, 92 percent of employees said they were satisfied with their current employer, according to survey data. At companies that did not make the list, the figure was 87 percent.

The data goes even deeper and shows that 77% of employees at the award-winning companies felt they were adequately rewarded for good work. Among employees at the non-award-winning companies, this figure dropped to 70%.
