LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Nikola Jokic collaborate on an Olympic documentary; DETAILS inside

At the Paris Olympics, the “Dream Team 2.0” achieved its goal of winning a gold medal. During the Olympics, this team, led by LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, competed against 61 NBA players – many more than the original Dream Team, which had only nine players.

The impressive international stars included three-time MVP Nikola Jokic, two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, previous season’s MVP runner-up Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and French powerhouses Rudy Gobert, the current four-time reigning Defensive Player of the Year, and Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama.

These NBA stars will take center stage in an upcoming Netflix documentary featuring Olympic highlights and behind-the-scenes footage. Although the documentary series does not yet have an official title, it is expected to premiere in early 2025 and will consist of six 45-minute episodes.

The same group that produced the critically acclaimed documentary The Last Dance, which followed the championship runs of the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan, will also be making this film. Words & Pictures, Higher Ground Productions and Olympic Channel are collaborating on the production, which will produce another exciting sports documentary series, a genre that has become incredibly popular in recent years.

Although they were considered clear favorites, the U.S. team still had to overcome many obstacles, especially in the semifinal against Serbia, where MVP Nikola Jokic took the lead. The U.S. team trailed by as many as 17 points in the competition.

But in the final minutes they made an incredible comeback. LeBron James scored 16 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and gave ten assists, achieving his second Olympic triple-double. Curry led the team with 36 points.

LeBron James

NBA star LeBron James added another honor to his legendary resume, being named the Olympics’ Most Valuable Player after leading the U.S. national team to its 17th and fifth consecutive gold medal. In six tournament games – all victories for the U.S. – James averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.3 steals. He provided his signature calming influence in the U.S. national team’s 98-87 championship victory over France, finishing with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 2 steals in just 33 minutes.

James now joins fellow Americans Kevin Durant (2020) and Manu Ginobili (2004) as the only players in history to win the Olympic MVP title. James joined Stephen Curry of Team USA, Nikola Jokic of Serbia, Victor Wembanyama of France and Dennis Schröder of Germany in the Olympic All-Star Five.
