Shoplifting suspects arrested after robbery at Kohl’s near Simi Valley

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. – Simi Valley police arrested three teenagers on Aug. 24 after stopping their getaway vehicle following a theft at Kohl’s.

According to SVPD, the car attempted to leave the parking lot onto Tapo Canyon Road before a chase began with the three teenagers in the car.

An 18-year-old man, a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old were arrested after the chase ended at the Santa Clara Valley Gas Plant, SVPD reported.

Clothing valued at over $700 was found and it was later determined that the car had been stolen in Cerritos, the SVPD said.

According to the SVPD, the teenagers were arrested and charged with organized shoplifting and conspiracy before being handed over to their families.

At the same time, the 18-year-old was taken to the Ventura County Detention Center and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a stolen vehicle
  • organized shoplifting
  • evade the police
  • conspiracy
  • Contribution to the criminality of minors
