Katy Perry’s new single has more than doubled its sales – but even that wasn’t good enough

Katy Perry’s new album is off to a bad start. In fact, the promotion of her upcoming album is going pretty poorly. 143whose decline is expected in a few weeks.

The singer has already released two singles from the set, but none of them became the hit she had hoped for. This week, “Lifetimes,” the second promo song from the project, does not reach Billboard Charts, despite some excitement and lots of promotion. The song almost sold well enough to make a list, but it missed out by a relatively small number of places.

According to Luminate, “Lifetimes” sold just under 1,400 copies in the most recent tracking period. That was nowhere near enough to land a spot on the Digital Song Sales chart, which tracks the country’s best-selling songs. The list currently has just 25 spots, and with that sales figure, Perry’s latest effort barely cracks the top 50 and is far from being included on the list.

Although it didn’t sell well enough to chart, “Lifetimes” saw a significant increase in sales compared to the last album. Perry released the song late Thursday, August 8. That was the last day of the tracking week as far as the charts go, but that didn’t stop fans from buying the song as soon as it came out.

In just the first few hours of its release—and during a single week on the chart—“Lifetimes” sold just over 600 copies. That number more than doubled after the track’s seven-day sales. Sales of the single increased by 118%, to be exact.

Perry launched the campaign to 143 last month with the release of the track’s first single, “Woman’s World.” While the world seemed excited for the singer to return to the dance-pop that made her a superstar, things went off the rails pretty quickly.

“Woman’s World” also failed to make the Digital Song Sales chart, in part because Perry also released it on a Thursday. The single entered the Hot 100, debuting and peaking at number 63. It disappeared from the scene the following week, and although it received enough radio attention to be featured on some of the Billboard Although the airplay numbers are high, it has already been largely forgotten.

“Lifetimes” has yet to chart in the US. It completely missed the Hot 100 and hasn’t received enough play on radio stations across the country to appear on any pop airplay lists. That could change in the next few weeks, but already the song seems to be a flop.
