Theo Hernandez was in the spotlight after AC Milan’s 2-1 loss to Parma, and not in a good way. The Frenchman lacked the will to help his team on both goals and new data has now proven this in black and white.
Parma scored the first goal after less than two minutes when Dennis Man was completely free on Milan’s left flank. The replays showed poor defense by Theo Hernandez who followed the winger for a long distance but could not stop him.
The second goal didn’t go much better, as the left-back jogged back and put new signing Strahinja Pavlovic in a difficult position. As Sky Italia (via Espertheo) reported, the goalscorer Matteo Cancellieri ran 9 km/h faster (30) than Hernandez’s 21 km/h.
When Man scored the first goal, he was travelling at 26 km/h, while Hernandez was clocking 17 km/h, 9 km/h slower. This undoubtedly made a big difference and you have to question the Frenchman’s work ethic, as he is one of the fastest players in Serie A.
In fact, such a performance would even be a reason to sit on the bench and it remains to be seen what decision Paulo Fonseca will make next weekend.
According to @SkySportTheo Hernandez ran significantly slower than Dennis Man and Matteo Cancellieri at the first and second gates yesterday.
