SLU played its season opener at home last week, drawing with SWAC favorite Grambling State (2-1-1).

The Lady Lions are looking to get their first win of the season before heading into conference play and four road games. Goalies Kendall Curan and Anna Blakenship split time in goal and enter Sunday’s match with two saves.

South Alabama earned its first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Louisiana Tech (0-1-2) on Thursday night after losing 3-0 to LSU (1-0) in Week 1. The Jaguars attempted 10 shots, four of which were on goal, led by sophomore midfielder Irene Campo. South Alabama secured an early lead in the first five minutes of the half when April Lantaigne found the net. Campo cemented the win with the Jaguars’ second goal, extending their lead. Goalie Allison Luckhardt stopped three shots on Thursday and enters Sunday’s game with seven saves for the Jaguars.
