Explanation of the Davy Jones trailer for “Pirates of the Caribbean”

A new pirates of the Caribbean Trailer featuring Davy Jones, the immortal captain of the Flying Dutchman, leaves fans wondering if this Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

The film trailer begins with the introduction of a new character calling herself Seraphine Black, followed by the revelation that Bill Nighy’s Davy Jones has returned with a warning for Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow.

Since this trailer was posted by a fan channel and much of the footage is from previous Pirates Movies, the trailer is definitely fake.

But both the trailer and the attention it received are evidence of the speculation and interest surrounding Disney’s mysterious Pirates of the Caribbean 6 Film.

Will Disney release a 6th part of “Pirates of the Caribbean”?

Despite the many rumors and fan-made trailers for future pirates of the Caribbean There are some indications that Disney wants to continue the franchise with not just one, but two new films.

A film would be a reboot with BarbieMargot Robbie, the long-time Pirates Producer Jerry Bruckheimer claimed in 2022 (via The Hollywood Reporter) is still “lively” But “More work needs to be done on it.”

The other film is a Pirates 6 with a younger cast and from the pen of an experienced Pirates Writer Ted Elliot and Chernobyl And The Last of Us“Craig Mazin.

In 2023, Mazin told the Los Angeles Times that her script was finished and Disney had accepted it.

The question now is when will this Pirates 6 and Margot Robbie’s film begins production, especially since the D23 Expo 2024 will take place without Pirates Announcements.

Another question is whether some of the original stars will be in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 And 7.

In contrast to the fan-made Pirates of the Caribbean: The Return of Davy Jones Trailer, there is no news of Billy Nighy returning to his tentacled role, and it is doubtful whether Captain Jack’s own Johnny Depp will return as well.

Speaking to Variety, Bruckheimer’s comments suggested that Depp would not be in the upcoming films, noting that a Pirates 6 will actually be easier than a Top Gun 3 since “You don’t have to wait for specific actors.”

However, in a separate interview, Bruckheimer admitted that he “cannot answer” the question of whether Disney could bring Johnny Depp back, but admitted, “I would like to see him in the movie.”

When Sean Bailey, President of Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, was asked about Depp’s return in 2023, he also said it was “non-binding at the moment.”

It is no wonder that the public is confused about the future of pirates of the Caribbean franchise given these reports and quotes, but with no film or release announcement to back it up.

It is equally confusing given the attention that Pirates Generating content and Disney’s current penchant for sequels.

So until Disney actually allows it, Pirates 6 and beyond from Davy Jones’ Locker, expect there to continue to be speculation about the cast and other fan-created content.
