“Today” star Jenna Bush Hager reveals the truth behind filming Hallmark Christmas movies

Jenna Bush Hager is used to the routine she has when filming Today a show every day. Well, she definitely has some thoughts on her latest gig, including one difficulty she never expected.

In July, Jenna announced that she would have a cameo in the upcoming Hallmark movie Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story as part of the broadcaster’s Countdown to Christmas event. While she spoke of her excitement to join the plethora of guest appearances (including Donna KelceHead coach of the Kansas City Chiefs Andy Reid and players Mecole Hardman Jr. And Clyde Edwards-Helaire), she told the truth about what it was like to film a Christmas movie for a popular network. As it turns out, there was one element that threw her off, as the movies are usually set around Christmas time.

“One of the things you don’t see when you watch Hallmark movies is that it’s 115 degrees,” she said parade on August 15th. “Most Hallmark movies are shot outdoors in the summer, so the actors have to wear coats and hats and pretend it’s Christmas even though it’s summer. It’s really tough.”

Another thing that Jenna hadn’t necessarily expected? She had trouble remembering her lines, which made her feel guilty. Luckily, Donna was by her side and helped her with the unexpected slip-ups.

“She was like, ‘Don’t worry, I messed up a million lines, you’re going to mess up your lines and they’re just going to move on,'” Jenna added. “Which is true, and I was nervous about it because I didn’t want to hold anyone up!”

As Hallmark fans may know, Deadline reported Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story will follow Alana (Hunter King), a longtime Chiefs fan whose family is competing for the team’s Fan of the Year contest. Director of Fan Engagement Derrick (Tyler Hynes) this way she could win more than just the chance of a lifetime for her loved ones… maybe she’ll even find her happy ending.

Although most of the details are still under wraps, we can at least look forward to Jenna’s cameo appearance!
