Watch Patrick Mahomes’ return to Texas Tech after $5 million donation

On Friday, Texas Tech Red Raiders legend Patrick Mahomes visited his old stomping grounds in Lubbock to celebrate his donation to the university’s athletic department.

Mahomes and his wife Brittany made the trip, and the Kansas City Chiefs’ multi-time Super Bowl champion was given a tour of the athletic department’s new facilities and made a surprise visit to the Texas Tech football team to show off the new uniforms the team will wear this season.

Mahomes also announced that he signed six Texas Tech student-athletes to NIL contracts on Friday while on his alma mater’s campus. The athletes include Micah Hudson (football), NiJaree Canady (softball), Jasmine Shavers (basketball), Matthew Comegys (golf), Sam Courtwright (soccer) and TJ Pompey (baseball).

Mahomes’ $5 million donation will be used to complete the $242 million South End Zone and Dustin R. Womble Football Center project.
