Viking women’s golf ranks first in NSIC preseason coaches poll

BRUNSVILLE, Minn. – The Augustana women’s golf team finished first in the 2024-25 NSIC Women’s Golf Preseason Coaches Poll with 199 points and nine first-place finishes. Shannon McCormick was selected as a Vikings athlete to spectate.

Head coach Coralee Jorgenson said, “Augustana University is excited to welcome four new student-athletes to our team. They all have had outstanding high school careers. We know that the newcomers will fill gaps and enrich the team with their respective personalities. It will be exciting to integrate the four players into our existing team!”

The Vikings return four athletes with McCormick. Masy Mock, Lanie Veenendall And Mattie Weidenbach. Veenendall returns to the court after a strong sophomore season that earned her All-NSIC First Team honors.

Jorgenson continued:Shannon McCormick is a player who has continued to improve. Her lowest score in an event last year was 70 and she finished with an average score of 77.4. She has a fabulous attitude and can easily stay in the present when playing. Her attitude, putting and playing experience make her a player to watch at Augustana!”
