New DMV website aims to improve online service – Saratogian

NEW YORK – The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles announced the launch of its redesigned and more user-friendly website at https://dmv.ny.gov/.

The new design features a more intuitive interface with streamlined content to help New Yorkers easily navigate through dozens of online transactions and obtain important information from the DMV. This change is part of the agency’s ongoing modernization initiative, which aims to significantly improve customer service, make services to customers more efficient, and replace the DMV’s outdated technology.

“We are acutely aware that most New Yorkers deal with the DMV, and the best way for us to connect is through our website,” DMV Commissioner Mark JF Schroeder said in a press release. “We have revamped the look and feel of our website and upgraded to the latest version of the web platform to ensure our site is stable and user-friendly. This update is just one part of the major transformation we are making here at the DMV, with the ultimate goal of helping our valued customers conduct their business as quickly and easily as possible.”

Key features of the new website include:

– more intuitive and user-friendly design that makes it easier for customers to navigate the website. – updated content and information. – the most modern content management system that allows DMV to present information in a more engaging way. – improved website security and stability.

The redesign is part of the DMV’s efforts to better serve its customers through its employee-led transformation initiative. Key components of that initiative include the recent launch of New York Mobile ID, which provides New Yorkers with a highly secure digital version of a state-issued driver’s license, learner’s permit or non-driver’s permit on a smartphone.

DMV has also begun modernizing its driver and registration systems by replacing computer systems that are over 50 years old. Over the course of this approximately four-year project, DMV will automate and significantly improve the reliability and efficiency of key DMV services.
