After a scoreless first half, the Wildcats tried to up the ante.

Thorn remained strong in the second half with two shots on goal. Hannah Martin, Peyton HillAnd Malia Cerdon also with shots on goal left.

“I’m excited about what we’re building and how the team has embraced it,” said head coach Stephen Salas. “We’ve put a lot of emphasis on our team’s defense and it showed tonight against a top 50 team in Lamar. 270 minutes of soccer without conceding a goal, but we need to continue to find our discipline in front of goal. We built some great attacks and had a lot of possession throughout the game. We’ll go into the next set with a chip on our shoulder. I’m proud of the team’s performance tonight as we head on the road for the next five games.”

The Wildcats head to Corpus Christi for their first road game against Texas A&M – Corpus Christi on August 29. Stay tuned to acusports.com. Follow ACU Soccer on Instagram, X and Facebook for important updates.
