How it happened

Bryant opened the scoring and took the lead in the second minute of the game when Warn lobbed the ball from just outside the 16-yard box with his left foot over the onrushing Bello and into the net.

Stonehill responded narrowly to the Bulldogs’ first goal in the fifth minute when the sophomore Lindsey Brown sent a pass from the Skyhawks’ defensive third of the court to a running Cassidy. Despite the attacking opportunity, Bryant’s defense prevented the scoring opportunity and thus kept Stonehill from scoring.

At 11:36 minutes, Bryant seemed to double his lead. But the doctoral student Sarah came into the six-yard box and blocked a shot that went into the net, keeping the Skyhawks down by one goal. Just a few minutes later, two goals from Collins and Koons at 13:30 and 17:56 of the first half gave the Bulldogs a convincing 3-0 lead.

In the final minutes of the first half, Stonehill began to apply sustained offensive pressure, highlighted by Lord’s three quality shots on goal. Despite spending time in the offensive zone, the Skyhawks remained scoreless after the first 45 minutes of play and entered the break trailing the Bulldogs 3-0.

In the second half, Bryant’s offense picked up where it left off, scoring two goals at 68-15 and 73-24. In the second half, Quill and Zaslaw scored for the Bulldogs, each scoring their first collegiate goal.

With about 15 minutes left in the non-conference game, Caso and Lord fired two shots just over the crossbar, cutting into Bryant’s lead. Despite their efforts over 90 minutes of play, the Skyhawks were unable to score and ultimately lost to the Bulldogs by a final score of 5-0.
