Maggie Rogers on her songs at weddings: “Incredibly special”

Maggie Rogers is more than happy to lend her voice to real love scenes.

In an interview with TodayThe singer-songwriter talked about how “incredibly special” it feels to know that her music is often played at weddings.

“I think the coolest thing about making music is that you can put music to these very special moments in people’s lives, and that’s especially true at a wedding, a ritual that people will remember for the rest of their lives,” said Rogers, 30.

She added: “I mean, for me, it’s nothing special.”

Rogers is currently set to kick off the second leg of her Don’t Forget Me tour in Austin, Texas in October and will then travel to Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto and New York City, among other major cities. The tour follows the release of the “Alaska” singer’s third album – also titled Don’t forget me – last April.

When her record was released in the spring, Rogers told PEOPLE about the 10-song collection she had impressively put together in just five days.

“Those five days weren’t all consecutive, but they were within two weeks of each other,” Rogers said in April. “I think if I had told myself a few years ago that I was doing this, I would have been like, ‘Oh my God, are you OK? Are you OK?’ But I was just so happy to be able to go to work every day and do what I love more than anything.”

Until her Don’t Forget Me tour continues with a second installment in the fall, Rogers has joined Coldplay as the opening act on their Music of the Spheres world tour.

During their concert at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium on Wednesday, Rogers joined the band on stage to pay musical tribute to Taylor Swift, who had to cancel her performances on August 8, 9 and 10 due to a failed terrorist attack. Rogers and the Grammy-winning band paid tribute with a performance of Swift’s 2008 hit “Love Story.”

Rogers shared a clip of the cover on Instagram and wrote: “From Vienna with love 💗💗💗 @coldplay @taylorswift.”

According to a Video shared by a concertgoer on X (formerly Twitter), Coldplay frontman Chris Martin explained why they decided to sing the song before their performance.

“We didn’t mention that Vienna was in the news all over the world for all the wrong reasons. But what got to us was the beauty and the solidarity and the kindness of all Taylor Swift’s fans,” said Martin, 47. “So we felt – of course Taylor is in America, she’s not here – but we’re here, so we have to do our best. So I don’t want you to think that we don’t care about the Swifties in our band.”
