How to tune in to ROCK Entertainment Sports Network (RESN) for high school football

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – There’s a new 24 hour, seven day a week sports network in Cleveland called “The Rock.”

The Rock Entertainment Sports Network is a free channel that can be received with an antenna.

In the future, Rock hopes to join multiple cable and streaming platforms.

This week, Rock begins a series of high school football games, including an important game with Warren Harding at Canton McKinley on Thursday night at 7 p.m.

This will be followed by a showdown between St. Edward and Pickerington North on Friday evening at 7 p.m.

To get these games for free, you will need to rescan your TV for terrestrial channels. It will also help if you have a good antenna connected to your TV.

Dan Slentz, director of engineering and technology at Cleveland 19, warns that many of the antennas for sale make numerous false claims.

“Antennas that say ‘4K’ are just buzzwords,” Slentz said. “Whether it’s standard definition, HD, 4K or even 8K, no antenna cares what that ‘RF’ (radio frequency) is transmitting!”

Stay away from antennas that claim to be able to receive cable or streaming signals. These options will never be broadcast over antenna.

Some antennas can be installed right next to your TV, but they may not produce the best results.

“With television (as with FM), elevation and outdoor space is the best scenario for reception. The higher you can mount the antenna, the better your reception,” Slentz said.

“Towers next to houses and chimneys are often the highest possibility. Roof mounts work, but many people definitely don’t want to mount such things on their roofs. A fair alternative is to place the antenna in the attic of a two-story or higher building.”
