Eastern Women’s Tennis named to ITA All-Academic Team

CHENEY, Washington — This summer, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (“ITA”) announced the 2024 Division I Women’s ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams.

The Eastern University women’s tennis team was named ITA All-Academic Team and seven Eagles received ITS Scholar-Athlete honors.

Anait Arutiunian, Isabella Foshee, Jennifer Kida, Kelly Arends, Kenzington Mann, Sara VasicAnd Scout Mathews were all awarded the ITS Scholar-Athlete Award.


In 2024, 1,573 Division I student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes and 255 women’s tennis programs received All-Academic Team honors.


To be named to the ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a grade point average of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.00 scale),
  • All included student-athletes should be listed on the institutional participation form and
  • All varsity letter winners should be included in the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, the following requirements must be met:

  • Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
  • Be listed on the institutional authorization form

In the 2022-23 NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR), the Eagles women’s tennis achieved a perfect multi-year score and achieved a multi-year score of 1,000 in the current academic calendar year, as announced by the NCAA.

The APR is the annual standard of academic performance calculated for all NCAA Division I sports.


Women’s tennis continued to set the standard for the Eagles, achieving a perfect APR score for the sixth consecutive year and ninth year overall in program history.


As a department, Eastern Athletics extended “The Streak” to 51 consecutive quarters with a GPA above 3.0, achieving a total score of 3.42 for the spring.
