The Glen Ellyn Park District, in partnership with the Conservation Foundation and the Glen Ellyn Environmental Commission, is hosting the 2024 Glen Ellyn Native Tree & Shrub Sale.

This pre-order sale is open to both residents and non-residents, offering everyone the opportunity to enhance their landscape with beautiful and useful native plants.

“This sale is a fantastic opportunity for everyone in and around Glen Ellyn to add variety and ecological value to their gardens,” said Courtney O’Kray, director of marketing and communications for the Glen Ellyn Park District. “Native plants provide important food and habitat for pollinators and other wildlife. They are well adapted to our local climate and require less maintenance in the long run.”

Fall is the ideal time to plant trees and shrubs so their roots can establish before the harsh winter weather sets in. Plus, all plants come in convenient 5-gallon containers so they can be easily transported and planted in your garden.

The pre-order period ends on Friday, September 13th, at noon.

Choose from a diverse selection of 30 native tree and shrub species, including American hazelnut, bald cypress, chokeberry, buttonbush, river birch, early wild rose and meadowsweet.

Order pickup will take place on Saturday, September 28th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Frank Johnson Center, 490 Kenilworth Ave. in Glen Ellyn. Please note that plants will not be available for purchase on site.
