Duggar fans spot a detail in Jana’s wedding family photo that suggests a MAJOR rift

A group photo from Jana Duggar’s wedding on August 15 has sparked speculation among fans that Josh Duggar’s wife Anna is being ignored by some members of the controversial family.

Anna, who stood by Josh despite allegations that he sexually assaulted four of his sisters – Jill, Jessa, Joy-Anna and Jinger, to name a few – was not seen in a large family photo taken at Jana’s wedding.

In total, 18 Duggar children, all of their spouses, and even the Duggar grandchildren are pictured – with the exception of Anna and the seven children she has with Josh: Mackynzie, Michael, Marcus, Meredith, Mason, Maryella, and Madyson.

Jana, 34, the eldest daughter of the reality TV family, tied the knot with Stephen Wissmann, 31, on Thursday at The Grand at Willow Springs, a wedding venue in Washington County, Arkansas, People reported. 500 people were in attendance.

An article published in the US Sun on August 17 said that fans of the series had recognized that Anna had been photographed at a table during the wedding.

The pictures, which fans believe showed Anna, were originally posted by Alaythia Wissmann, the groom’s sister, in an Instagram Stories post captioned “Mr. & Mrs. Wissmann.”

Josh Duggar’s troubled past and legal problems

The Duggar family’s TLC reality series “19 Kids and Counting” was canceled in July 2015 after Josh Duggar’s past allegations of sexual abuse came to light.

In 2006, an investigation was launched against Josh after a family confidant tipped him off, but officials at the time cited the statute of limitations and decided not to press charges.

Josh Duggar is currently serving a 12 1/2 year prison sentence in connection with his 2021 conviction for downloading child sexual abuse images.

Federal officials investigating Josh Duggar said he downloaded the illegal images from an Arkansas car dealership where he worked.

According to AP, authorities who examined Josh Duggar’s computer said they found images in 2019 “depicting the sexual abuse of children, including infants.”

In June, the Supreme Court rejected an appeal by Josh Duggar of his 2021 conviction. The U.S. highest court “did not elaborate on the denial, as is customary,” according to the AP.

Josh Duggar’s conviction had previously been upheld by lower courts that had not accepted his argument that his lawyers should have been allowed to interview a former employee of the car dealership who had already been convicted of a sex offense and had used the computer at issue in the case.

According to AP, Josh Duggar’s lawyers did not question the ex-employee in their testimony after the judge said they were prohibited from mentioning the ex-employee’s conviction for a sex offense.

Before his past came to light, Josh Duggar worked as a lobbyist for the Family Research Council, a conservative organization. His current release date from prison is scheduled for October 2, 2032, InTouch reported.

Details and controversies about Anna

Anna married Josh Duggar, the eldest child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, on September 26, 2008, in Florida. The wedding was documented in the second season of the 19 Kids and Counting special “A Very Duggar Wedding.”

According to InTouch, the couple had seven children: Mackynzie, Maryella, Marcus, Mason, Michael, Meredith and Madyson.

Anna continues to live with her children at the Duggar family estate in Tontitown, Arkansas, the outlet reported in May.

Anna had at one point considered moving to Texas, as Josh remains incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institute in Seagoville, Texas. A source told the outlet that Josh is against the move.

“The problem is that Josh doesn’t want Anna and her children to move away from his family,” a source told InTouch in October 2022. “He believes it would cause too much alienation between her and his children.”

Duggar family cousin Amy King told People in June 2023 that she told Anna she had a place for her and her children to live while Josh was in custody.

Anna “didn’t want anything to do with it at all, and that’s her decision,” said King, who told the publication that she had “tried” to reach Anna through several channels.

“I don’t know if her phone is being monitored,” she said. “I don’t know if she turned it off and if she got a new one. I tried Instagram, I tried Twitter.”

In May, InTouch reported that “Anna and Josh are still married while he serves his prison sentence,” but Anna is torn about how to proceed given the difficult circumstances.

“She’s taken her marriage vows seriously and wants to stand by her husband and all, but the reality of her situation is very difficult,” a source told the outlet in January 2023, adding that she “wants Josh by her side, as a husband and as a father to her children.”

The insider noted that Anna’s ambitions are “not physically possible now or in the near future.”

Anna Duggar has kept a low profile on social media amid her family’s high-profile issues, deleting an Instagram account she still had in 2022 following Josh’s conviction, the outlet reported.

Anna has an account on X/Twitter with more than 114,000 followers, which she used sporadically. After two years of not posting on the platform, she published two tweets in the last three months, both in support of former President Donald Trump.

Fans’ reaction to Anna’s participation in the wedding event

In a Reddit thread addressing the US Sun report and speculating about Anna’s attendance at the event, fans seemed to agree that her presence there made sense, regardless of her husband’s history.

“I’d be surprised if she wasn’t there,” said one user. “I wonder why people think it’s surprising that she was there.”

Another user said that there were “500 guests” at Jana and Stephen’s wedding, so “of course Anna was there.”

One user said Anna’s presence was just to keep up appearances as she is still married to Josh.

“She has to be there. She is the good servant. She has to stay loyal to the family while her husband is in prison because he is a bad person. And then she will take him back when he gets out and they will find a solution how to raise the remaining children,” the user said.

A separate thread speculated about how Anna gets along with the rest of the family. The title was, “What do the Duggars think about Anna right now?”

One user said that the family harbors resentment toward Anna because Josh’s behavior led to the cancellation of her lucrative reality show and, subsequently, bad publicity regarding Josh.

The user said the family had created “unfair and unrealistic” expectations of Anna in terms of controlling Josh, describing her as “a walking, talking reminder” of Josh’s wrongdoings.

The user noted that the family could not afford the publicity blow that would come if they completely avoided Anna and her children.

Another user echoed the sentiment, saying, “That sounds right, and she obviously didn’t cure him (the problem is HIM), and now the family has to support her and her brood of kids!”

Another user said: “Anna was not the one who brought shame to the family.”

One user said he felt sorry for the children and that they probably “don’t understand why they can’t be in the big family portrait” in a magazine.

Fans were divided on whether Anna had been on the right track in recent years, with one saying it was “her own fault she stayed,” while another asked, “But realistically, what other choice did she have?”
