Adaptation of the television series “The Paris Widow” in progress

A television series based on Kimberly Belle’s thriller novel The Parisian Widow is in progress.

The adaptation, unveiled on Wednesday, is the start of a first-look deal between producers Brittany A. Little and Larissa Bell, as well as Little Bell Productions and Universal Television. The Parisian Widow The novel is about a dream vacation that ends fatally when a married couple in Paris is caught up in secrets from the past.

Little and Bell will produce the series adaptation with Talitha Watkins at ColorCreative, the production company she founded with Issa Rae and Deniese Davis. Novelist Belle will also produce.

Brittany A. Little and Larissa Bell said in a statement: “We are thrilled to begin this next chapter of our careers at Universal Television, a place where we feel at home. As individuals, we have always been driven by a mission and are excited to join forces to bring to life stories that celebrate the universal in the unique and speak to the broader human condition. The Parisian Widow does just that with the excitement and romance that, as we have all recently seen, can only be found in the City of Light.”

As part of their first-look deal, Little and Bell will develop and produce projects for broadcast, streaming and cable platforms with the Hollywood studio through its production banner. Prior to launching Little Bell, Little was vice president of drama development at Universal Television and Bell was head of development at Amazon Studios.

Brittany and Larissa’s creative instincts, business acumen and passion make them ideal partners for Universal Television,” added Erin Underhill, president of Universal Television, in a statement. “The Parisian Widow is a gripping and thrilling cat-and-mouse thriller and a perfect example of the exciting stories that will emerge from this partnership.”
