New elevated water storage tank in Flour Bluff put into operation

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Corpus Christi Water (CCW) announces the completion of a new elevated water storage tank in the Flour Bluff area. The new tank has a 3 million gallon capacity and replaces the old one million gallon tank built in 1970. Located at the intersection of Flour Bluff Drive and Division Road, this new tank features a concrete base and welded steel shell and is one of seven tanks serving the city.

The height of the tank creates pressure, allowing for efficient distribution of water by gravity to local homes and businesses. In addition, it provides important additional storage for fire protection and emergency situations in the Flour Bluff area. This project is an important part of CCW’s ongoing efforts to modernize and improve the city’s water infrastructure.

“As we recognize this achievement today, it is also an opportunity to look to the future of our city,” said City Manager Peter Zanoni. “This water tower is an important part of our comprehensive improvement plan for the area.”

“Today’s ceremony for the new Flour Bluff water tower underscores the City’s ongoing commitment to improving our water infrastructure,” said Drew Molly, PE, COO of Corpus Christi Water. “This fiscal year alone, we replaced nearly 60,000 feet of water main – a record in itself. The new Flour Bluff water tower is a visible symbol of our commitment to providing reliable, world-class water services to our residents for generations to come. This is a continuation of our strategic plan to improve system stability, reliability and capacity.”
