Women’s Rowing and Sculling announces Gregg Seiz (born 2023) as assistant coach

ITHACA, NY – The Ithaca College women’s rowing program has announced the hiring of new assistant coach Gregg Seiz ’23.

“I knew Gregg was dedicated and conscientious as a student and athlete, but during the recruiting process I learned that his decision to become a coach was well thought out and conscious,” said head coach Beth Greene. “He respects the role and impact that coaching can have in a student’s life and I couldn’t be happier to have someone with his energy and enthusiasm on the team.”

Seiz has coached youth rowing for 17 seasons at clubs such as the Narragansett Boat Club, Passaic River Rowing Association and Nereid Boat Club. He has also worked with the national outreach program STEM to Stern and in 2024 he coached the Narragansett Boat Club’s STEM to Stern program, which brought the most STS athletes to the national championships of any team that competed. His high school teams have performed strongly at the national championships and many of his athletes have gone on to row at a high level in college.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be part of Bomber Nation again,” Seiz said. “Since the day I first arrived on campus as a student years ago, I have been obsessed with the culture here and I think it is truly the perfect program for athletes to grow into champions. I am very excited to help Coach Greene lead Team 50 in their 2024-2025 season.”

Seiz graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Sports Science in 2023. He spent his entire rowing career at Ithaca on the 8+ first team for the men’s program, was co-captain and was selected to the Liberty League first team in 2023.
