Motorola has hinted at the launch of a new phone on August 29. The name of the device is not mentioned in the company’s teaser. However, the reports suggest that it could be the Motorola Edge 50 Neo. It will be the successor to the Motorola Edge 40 Neo, which was launched in September last year. Nevertheless, it is very likely that the Edge 40 Neo will see the light of day at the upcoming Motorola event.
Motorola could launch the Edge 50 Neo on August 29 in attractive color variants
Motorola also posted a video clip on X with the caption, “Artistic elegance meets beautiful colors.” The company had previously hinted at similar words to promote the Edge 50 series smartphones. The clip mentions “LYTIA,” “Pantone,” and “intelligence meets art” for the upcoming device. This suggests that Motorola’s new phone, which is set to launch on August 20, could be the Edge 50 Neo.
The live images of the alleged Motorola Edge 50 Neo were recently leaked, courtesy of Evan Blass (@evleaks) on X. The photos showed the four official color variants of the upcoming Edge 50 Neo. The color variants include Grisaille (Black), Nautical Blue, Poinciana (Red), and Latte (Beige).
Edge 50 Neo will feature three rear cameras and a synthetic leather back
According to the leaked images, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo will have three main cameras on the back. They will be located on the large camera island in the top left corner, just like on the Edge 50. The markings next to the cameras suggest a focal length range of 13-73mm and optical image stabilization, presumably for the main lens.
Furthermore, we can expect the device to feature a 50MP main camera and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It could also have a third 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera on the back. Most notably, the device is expected to feature an attractive synthetic leather back.
According to rumors, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo will be launched in two RAM and storage configurations. The base model is said to offer 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The higher-end variant is said to offer 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of native storage.
