USC’s newest sports facility reached its full height on Tuesday as construction workers completed Rawlinson Stadium.
The state-of-the-art facility will be home to USC’s women’s soccer and lacrosse teams beginning in 2025.
The stadium project is part of USC President Carol Folt’s “Moonlight” to Redefine Sports, a large-scale effort to highlight collegiate excellence in sports through improved facilities, support and philanthropy that will encompass a variety of athletic programs.
Rawlinson Stadium will have a natural grass playing surface and seating for 2,500 spectators. It will include spectator terraces and common areas, a press box, spectator toilets, a box office, concession stands and an official entrance area.
The stadium is named after the family of well-known Los Angeles philanthropist Joseph Rawlinson following a $10 million donation from the Fritz B. Burns Foundation.
Rawlinson was close friends with fellow LA philanthropist and homebuilder Burns, whose eponymous charity is now run by members of the Rawlinson family.
