B-TOWN BIZ: After 6 years in business, Olde Burien’s popular The Shoppe Seahurst is closing after sale falls through

After six years of serving the Burien community, The Shoppe Seahurst has announced that it will permanently close its doors in Olde Burien this coming Sunday, August 25, 2024.

The decision followed the failure of a sales agreement with a potential buyer who was initially considered a perfect candidate.

“While we are disappointed with the outcome, it does not change what the last six years have meant to us and what we feel about the community we have created here in Burien,” said owner Beka Atwood.

Known for its carefully curated collection of artisanal goods such as lotions, candles, cheese and more, the shop is a favorite among locals.

The company is running a final sale through Saturday, August 24, with all items, including store fixtures, 50% off.

The owner expressed her gratitude for the support of the Burien community and thanked customers for their hospitality and sharing memories in the spaces.

“Thank you for welcoming me into your homes, for sharing our gifts with me, and for taking the time to stop, laugh and talk with your neighbors and new friends,” Atwood said. “Thank you for sharing your time with me. Thank you for supporting my dream so that I can say I achieved it and loved it.”

The store’s closing sale will run daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until closing time Saturday.

“You all mean so much to me. Thank you. Xx,” Atwood added.

The Shoppe at Seahurst is located at 903 SW 152nd Street:
