My home office setup is “weird” to say the least. Since I work and play on two huge screens, my desk is absurdly large. It’s big enough that I could pretty much sleep on it. Of course, I’d wake up the next morning with a terrible backache. But that just goes to show how big this piece of office furniture really is. It’s also an L-shaped desk (which has its own quirks), and if I don’t buy the wrist rest, which I need quite large, my forearms would pretty much be in pretty bad shape.
The Razer Wrist Rest Pro full size costs $19 on Amazon. You can also get a mini-keyboard version ($19.99) designed for use with smaller keyboards, and a third option without a numeric keypad (also $19.99)—for users who may not have a number pad on their typing device.
Note: The Razer Ergonomic Wrist Rest is currently out of stock, but you can Cooling memory foam version for $34 or wait until it is back in stock.
If you want to take it a step further, you can upgrade the Razer Rest Pro with “cooling memory foam” for an additional $15. Even in my sweat box of a home office, I’ve found that the standard non-cooled foam of the two rests I own usually stays sweat-free as they mold to my wrists, forearms, and elbows.
I don’t know where I would be without her. Probably.
I went to my family doctor’s office every few weeks and complained of excruciating pain in my elbow.
Although the Razer Rest Pro is obviously primarily designed for people who type all day and end up with wrist pain, as the owner of a fairly large L-shaped desk, my elbows aren’t constantly banging against the desk thanks to these nice foam pads. I can’t remember the manufacturer; all I can tell you is that it took me about 9 hours to assemble myself.
Why? Because this desk packs the thickness factor like no other. I just got out my tape measure and diagonally it measures an incredible 130 inches.
A desk dilemma
Now, while “need” sounds a bit of an exaggeration here, I definitely make use of every inch of a desk that looks like it was designed for King Kong’s computing needs. It turns out that a 49-inch Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 eats up a lot of space next to a 48-inch LC C2 OLED TV that I use as a second monitor. all the space.
After accommodating these two massive displays, I have just enough room to squeeze in a headset stand for my beloved Sony Inzone H5 gaming headset, my Nommo Chroma desktop speakers, and a replica of a small dinosaur skull. Hey, after all, I’m officially the biggest Jurassic Park fan in the world.
Since I have to constantly switch between my two large and active screens, the non-slip rubber feet of Razer Rest Pro are a great help. And as soon as I put my arms on them to move over the best gaming laptops They don’t move an inch for hours.
So if you find yourself in a similarly peculiar situation as me when working from home – especially for all you L-shaped desk owners out there – I would highly recommend getting yourself a pair of Razer padded wrist rests. They have protected my wrists and elbows from pain and are a real game changer.
