Can’t get enough of Sauce Food Truck Friday? Or maybe you live a little too far to make the trek to Tower Grove Park on a regular basis. The Alton Food Truck Festival satisfies that foodie need across the river, and this event at the Alton Amphitheater at 1 Riverfront Drive offers stunning views of the Mississippi from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 24.

This is the 10th edition of the festival (it is not a full annual event due to a pandemic-related hiatus) and will feature “new and returning favorites with a wide selection of tempting food options as well as musical entertainment by the upbeat Rock Mafia,” according to a press release.

“This year’s Alton Food Truck Festival is shaping up to be the best yet,” said Dan Herkert, chairman of the amphitheater commission, in a press release. “This is one of the most popular events each season at the Alton Amphitheater, and we expect a large crowd again this year.”

Presented by Sauce Magazine, Trucks expected to participate include: Beast Craft BBQ, Cajun Seduction, Doughboy’s Wood Fired Pizza, Duchess Royal, Fire & Ice Cream Truck, G Burrito, Go Gyro Go, Grace Chicken & Fish, Jive Turkey, The Moobile, Mr. Noodle, Pig On A Wing, Scoops of Joy, The Sweet Side, Takozz, Treaux’s Cajun BBQ and Tuk Tuk Thai.

“We are also excited to welcome Rock Mafia, a professional rock band specializing in high-energy dance-rock, country and pop, to the amphitheater stage,” said Herkert. “We are confident that Rock Mafia will continue the tradition of lively and engaging musical entertainment that has become an integral part of the Alton Food Truck Festival.”

Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages can be sold in the amphitheater.

“We can’t wait to see a big crowd at this fantastic event enjoying great food and music on our beautiful riverfront,” he said. “The crowds are always big, so we encourage people to come early, pick out their favorite trucks and spend the afternoon relaxing with friends.”

The Alton Amphitheater has several other exciting events planned for later in the year, including the Alton Jazz and Wine Festival on August 3rd and the Alton Expo from September 5th-8th.
