Dear Abby, can I go? The neighbor’s son invited me to his wedding, but the neighbor stopped talking to me

Dear Abby: My long-time neighbor has stopped speaking to me. I’ve contacted her, but she’s not responding. We raised our children together. Her son is getting married out of state, and my son will be in the wedding party. The groom sent us a save the date card. I would love to see him at his wedding, but I don’t want to ruin his mother’s day. Do you have any advice on how I should proceed?

— Wonder in Colorado

Dear Wonders: I wish you had given me a clue as to why your long-time neighbor has stopped speaking to you. This is not YOUR wedding. Your son would not have sent you a “save the date” card if he didn’t want you to be there for his special day. If you would like to attend under the circumstances, then go. But don’t expect the breach to heal. If not, send your regrets and a small gift to the happy couple.
