Women’s squash announces class of 2028

PHILADELPHIA- Director of Squash at the University of Pennsylvania/Head Coach of the Women’s Team Jack Wyant is pleased to announce its new recruits for the 2024-25 season. Three young women – Savannah Ingeldew, Alexandra Stoddard and Hailey Wong – will join the team as freshmen this season.

“The class of 2028 brings a wealth of international experience,” said Wyant. “All three have the chance to be four-year starters and help lead the program back to the top tier of college squash.”

After one of the best starts in program history, the University of Pennsylvania women’s squash team finished in sixth place according to the College Squash Association (CSA).

Secondary school: Highly decorated squash career as a two-time national champion and singles player of the year under head coach Neil Franklin … Helped Epsom win the England Girls U18 National Team Championships and two Mixed U18 Championships, two Roehampton Independent High Schools titles and runner-up at the Surrey Inter-Country … Prior to Epsom, she helped her school win the 2019 and 2020 South African Schools Championships … South African Women’s Singles Champion at U17 and U19 level … Winner of the 2023 South African Growthpoint Women’s Championship … Ranked number 1 for South Africa at the Junior Squash Team Championships to a 5-1 result … Reached the last 16 at the Junior Squash Singles Championships in Melbourne, Australia … Winner of the 2023 Surrey Schools National Team event … Earned the title at the 2023 Junior British Open 13th… Winner of the 2022 Scottish Junior Open… Has represented South Africa in competitions around the world since 2018… Has also competed in athletics at Epsom, setting a school record in the 1500m and coming second in the 800m at Nationals in his senior year… Captained the A team in field hockey for two years and helped Epsom College Surrey reach the championship game at Nationals… Recipient of the Best of the Year award in Sport and Business at A-Level… Academic honours.
