Iran and Turkmenistan want to promote scientific and technical cooperation

TEHRAN: Officials from Iran and Turkmenistan have explored ways to enhance scientific and technological cooperation and boost the innovation ecosystem.

During a three-day meeting held at the Science and Technology Park of Razavi Khorasan Province, Turkmen officials said this cooperation could contribute to the development of new technologies and improve the scientific capacities of both countries, ISNA reported.

“The capabilities of the Khorasan Science and Technology Park in petrochemicals, electronics and other fields have aroused our interest in cooperating with the center in the field of innovation and technology,” they stressed.

The officials also called for the signing of memorandums of understanding between Oguz Han University of Turkmenistan and Khorasan Science and Technology Park to strengthen scientific, research and technological cooperation and enable the exchange of expertise and experience between the two countries.

For his part, Vice President of Khorasan Science and Technology Park Ali Esmaili said that the main objective of the meeting was to explore possible ways to expand cooperation and promote the innovation ecosystem and its growth.

Due to the proximity of the two countries and their common needs, cooperation in various areas is possible, he noted.

“The integration of existing resources, energy and networks will create extraordinary opportunities for technological advancement for both countries.

The two countries can also conduct joint research projects and establish start-ups to achieve their goals,” Esmaeili added.

The presence of a strong network in the innovation system is crucial for promoting technology. The innovation network of Iran and Turkmenistan can jointly develop cutting-edge technologies.

Other main objectives of the cooperation include the establishment of innovation and technology development centers, holding joint workshops and inviting investors from both countries in this field.
