John Cena’s unexpected prank call: Find out how the WWE legend became a viral meme

Memes featuring John Cena are a huge hit on the internet because of his famous catchphrase You Can’t See Me. In 2015, a hilarious prank call using the Leader Of Cena’s name became a viral sensation on the internet. The prank call was made by the host of a radio show called Z Morning Zoo.

The target of the prank call was a woman named Marie. Her husband was a huge WWE fan who spent money on WWE PPVs, and she was completely against her husband spending so much money.

With John Cena’s theme song “The Time Is Now” playing in the background, the prankster called Marie and asked, “Are you ready for this Sunday night when WWE Champion John Cena defends his title in WWE Super Slam?” He added that the pay-per-view was available for only $59.99. The prankster promoted a fake PPV as a joke. The lady respectfully declined the offer and said that there would be no more wrestling in her house.

On the second call, the prankster blasted the same John Cena music in the background and again promoted the Super Slam and John Cena. He also lowered the price of the fake PPV to $49.99. Marie was irritated this time and indicated that she was not interested in buying the PPV.

When the phone rang again, the prankster had a brilliant line ready: “Hello, can I speak to Champ?” After the confused lady asked who the Champ was, the host blared John Cena’s music and said that the question would be answered on Sunday night when John Cena put his belt on the line at the WWE Super Slam. After screaming and cursing, she again warned the host not to call her home.

On the next call, the joker said he had been watching her. When Marie said “excuse me,” John Cena’s music blared and said that was what the Undertaker said to John Cena, and the question remained if he could take the title from John at Super Slam. This time she lost it and said she would follow the joker’s act and there would never be wrestling in her house again.

When the phone rang again, she threatened the caller with her first line, but the prankster’s co-host, a lady, calmed her down and asked if Katie was a supporter of the military and the Marine Corps. She apologized for the initial reaction and answered yes.

Regarding Cena’s role in the film “Marine”, she was told over the phone that a former Marine Corps needed her assistance and she played Cena’s music again.

The radio host called again but hung up. The next time she called, Marie was furious and threatened to call the police while explaining that she was against the idea of hosting wrestling shows in her house.

During the final call about the prank, the prankster asked Marie to calm down and introduced himself as the host of the radio show “Z Morning Zoo.” He also explained that the idea for the prank was her husband Donny.

The call became a viral sensation at the time and is still remembered today. The video of John Cena’s prank call has been viewed over 56 million times on YouTube.
