BOSTON (WHDH) – Boston police are investigating after five people were shot near Franklin Park Sunday night, officials said.

When officers responded to a reported shooting at Franklin Park and Pierpont Road around 8:45 p.m., they found three men and two women with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. All were taken to the hospital.

Boston police are now asking anyone with cell phone videos or other information to help with the investigation.

Police Commissioner Michael A. Cox said at the scene that the violence was an unfortunate end to an otherwise successful Dominican festival in the park.

“This incident has really tarnished what was a pretty successful event for the people here… You can’t come to our city and do things like this without expecting to be held accountable for it, and we absolutely guarantee that we will do that for this incident here,” he said.
