Authorities confirmed reports of shots fired Sunday near the MIT Sailing Pavilion on Memorial Drive in Cambridge.
Massachusetts State Police arrived at the scene around 5:15 p.m., a preliminary statement said.
This evening around 5:15 p.m. we received reports of gunshots in the area of the MIT Sailing Pavilion on Memorial Drive in Cambridge. State and @CambridgePolice responded to the scene and took the suspect into custody. There is currently no known threat to public safety

There are “several investigative markers” around the crime scene, a Boston25 reporter said in a social media post. Police appear to be particularly investigating a Nissan at the crime scene, the post said. The car appears to have several bullet holes.

According to state police, a suspect is in custody. Authorities believe there is currently no danger to the public.
