Murder warrant issued against man wanted in connection with fatal fire near Concrete

SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man wanted in connection with a fatal house fire near Concrete is now wanted for murder.

Mount Vernon Police said they are currently seeking 49-year-old Jason M. Birman on a warrant for three counts of first-degree murder.

He has not been seen since the fire that destroyed a home on State Route 530 on August 9. Three people, 52-year-old Erin Birman, 19-year-old Taylor Dawson and 18-year-old Jillian Whitney Van Boven, were found dead in the rubble of the home.

Investigators concluded that gunshot wounds contributed to the deaths of all three victims.

Jason Birman is the husband of Erin Birman. She was a contract employee for Skagit County. Dawson was her son and Van Boven was Dawson’s girlfriend.

Jason Birman’s 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck, Washington state license plate C67636L, has also been missing since the fire was discovered. He is known to be a frequent traveler in both Skagit and Whatcom counties and is an avid off-roader.

Anyone with information on Birman or the vehicle is asked to call the tip line at 360-661-2319.
