Released on August 2nd via Real World Records, Tree – The Heartwood Remixes features John Metcalfe reworking three tracks from his previous album Tree. The project kicks off with the release of Dusk (Heartwood Remix).

Metcalfe aims to delve deeper into the emotional essence of the album with these remixes. The string recording sessions at Abbey Road were very important to him as he focused on capturing raw performances with minimal production. He has removed many elements to highlight the core sound of the original recordings.

“Dusk,” one of Metcalfe’s favorite songs from Treeis the first remix released. It reflects the transition from day to night, with a chord progression that symbolizes the rising stars at sunset.
