TRUCKEE, Calif. – The highly anticipated annual Start Haus Ski Consignment Sale returns Labor Day weekend, August 30-September 2, 2024. Each year, the local ski shop collects hundreds of pairs of used skis to sell at the event – ​​from recreational skis to racing skis and speed suits.

“People line up an hour before opening on the first day,” said Jared Licht, owner of Start Haus. “We have customers from Reno, Sacramento, San Francisco and beyond buying and selling here. For us, this is the biggest event of the year and we eagerly anticipate it every summer. It’s a fantastic opportunity to buy used equipment for yourself or upgrade your kids’ skis.”

Start Haus’s ski sale runs Friday, August 30th through Monday, September 2nd, from 8am to 6pm daily. Shoppers will find hundreds of pairs of used skis, including backcountry skis, powder skis, all-mountain skis, race skis, carving skis and speed suits. Visitors can explore a wide selection of ski gear, outfit the whole family for winter and score great bargains all weekend long.

In addition to the annual ski sale, Start Haus is offering the best bike sale of the year with up to 50% off rental bikes and up to 40% off new bikes throughout Labor Day weekend. Bikes on offer include e-bikes, bikes with pedals, junior bikes and more.

Start Haus is currently accepting used skis that can be dropped off at the store during regular business hours. Accepted items include alpine skis (flat or mounted), racing skis (flat or mounted), and speed suits. Sellers will receive 70% of the sale price as store credit or 60% in cash (check).
