How to watch the Olympic Beach Volleyball semifinals live: time, channel, TV schedule for the men’s and women’s games
The semifinals of the Olympic beach tournaments have been decided and four teams can still fight for the gold medal in both the men’s and women’s events.
In the women’s competition, no American team will be in the semifinals after the duo Kelly Cheng and Sara Hughes were defeated in a close match by the Swiss team Nina Brunner and Tanja Hüberli.
In the semifinals, Switzerland will face the Canadian team with Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson.
The top-ranked Brazilian women’s team of Ana Patricia Silva Ramos and Eduarda Santos Lisboa will face the Australian pair Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Taliqua Clancy, who won silver in Tokyo.
On the men’s side, no American beach volleyball team will compete for a medal in Paris, as Miles Partain and Andy Benesh of the United States lost to Qatar in the quarterfinals, the first American team to fail to win a medal since the sport was added to the Summer Games in 1996.
Instead, Qatar, which won bronze in Tokyo with its duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, will compete against David Ahman and Jonatan Hellvig from Sweden.
In the other semi-final, defending champions Anders Bernsten Mol and Christian Sandlie Sorum from Norway will face Germans Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler.

The men’s and women’s Olympic beach volleyball semifinals will take place at 11:00 a.m. ET, noon ET, 3:00 p.m. ET and 4:00 p.m. ET. The winners of the women’s matches will qualify for the gold medal match on Friday, August 9, while the men’s winners will qualify for the gold medal match on Saturday, August 10.
