Tennessee Department of Transportation – TDOT

Nashville, Tennessee: The most beautiful beaches – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) in Montgomery County will repave I-24 west of Trough Springs Road to the Robertson County line.

Every night, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., alternating lanes in both directions are closed to carve shoulders, apply lane markings, and place thermoplastic (MM 11-17).

Montgomery County – SR 149

Repairing the bridge on SR 149 over Yellow Creek.

Continuously. The bridge will be reduced to one lane in order to dismantle and reconstruct the old bridge deck. Temporary traffic lights will regulate traffic.



Montgomery County – SR 112 / SR 76

Intersection improvements. Leveling, drainage and construction of retaining walls.

There will be temporary road closures every day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. due to the laying of utility lines, grading work and the installation of drainage systems.

Cheatham County – SR 249

Construction of a concrete box girder bridge on SR 249 over Dry Creek, including grading, drainage and paving.

Aug 15 – Aug 21, Ongoing. The bridge will be reduced to one lane to demolish the existing structure and construct the new bridge. Traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic lights.

Davidson County – I-24

Resurfacing of I-24 from I-65 to I-40 (East Loop), including repairs to bridge expansion joints.

Every night, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., there will be alternating lane closures in both directions due to milling work. There will also be temporary ramp closures at times.

FORECAST: August 23rd – August 26th, continuously; I-24 EB will be closed throughout the weekend for bridge construction. Detour signs will be posted.



Davidson County – I-40

Milling and paving.

August 15, 8:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m., WB lanes 2 and 3 are closed due to milling and paving work.

Repairing the bridge on I-40 over Clifton Avenue.

August 15 – August 21, continuously, the shoulder of I-40 EB will be closed continuously due to repairs to a noise barrier and a parapet on the bridge over Clifton Avenue.
On August 15, 18 and 19, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., the road will be closed due to the removal of the temporary concrete guard rails.

Repair of the bridge on the I-40 WB merge ramp over the I-65 NB merge ramp (MM 210).

August 15 – August 21 (except weekends), 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m., due to bridge construction, the inside lane on the I-40 WB/Exit 210B merge ramp will be closed from the Exit 210B/Exit 210A fork to the I-40 Wb/I-65 SB merge.





Grading, drainage, bridge construction, retaining walls and paving on I-40 (MM 216) at the Donelson Pike interchange.

08/15-08/21 (excluding weekends), 1:00 p.m., there will be a rotating rolling road closure on I-40 in both directions due to blasting (MM 214-220).

Davidson County – I-65

The call sign replacement on various interstates and state roads.

Each night, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., there will be temporary ramp closures on Armory Drive WB to the ramp to I-65 NB & SB and from Powell Avenue SB to Armory Drive due to overhead bridge sign replacement.

Repair of the bridge on the I-40 WB merge ramp over the I-65 NB merge ramp.

August 15 – August 21 (except weekends), 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m., there will be lane closures on the I-65 NB merge ramp at Exit 82B from the fork of Exits A&B to the I-65 NB/I-40 EB merge due to bridge construction.

Dickson County – I-40

Dickson Electric Aerial Crossing through rolling roadblock.

August 18, 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. (first traffic light), installation of a crossing over I-40 near the Hogan Road overpass using a rolling roadblock (MM 174).



Dickson County – SR 46

Construction of a box girder bridge on SR 46 over Yellow Creek.

Continuous. The bridge will be reduced to one lane to demolish the existing structure and reconstruct the new bridge. Traffic will be regulated by temporary traffic lights.

Dickson County / Williamson County / Cheatham County / Davidson County – I-40

The SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) has been extended on I-40 from near I-840 in Dickson County to near US 70S (Exit 196) in Davidson County.

Daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., there will be daytime closures of the shoulders of I-40 in both directions throughout the project boundaries to allow for maintenance at the tow stations.

Every night from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., I-40 is closed in both directions for guardrail installation.

Humphreys County – I-40

Construction of bridges on I-40 over Squeeze Bottom Lane and the Buffalo River (MM 140.5 – 141.5).

From August 18th to August 21st, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. (continuous), I-40 EB will be closed continuously on the outside lane for milling, paving and parking work on the sidewalk. One lane will remain open.



Robertson County – I-65

Grading, drainage, construction of bridges and retaining walls, ITS and paving.

Every night, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., I-65 will experience temporary lane closures in both directions due to pavement markings and thermoplastic (MM 112 – 120).

08/16 – 08/19, 8:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m., I-65 will have temporary ramp closures at Exit 117 in both directions to allow for the grinding of the concrete ramps. Only one ramp will be closed at a time.

Tennessee Department of Transportation

Motorists are urged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closures. Contractors provide information to the Department of Transportation in this report. Most work is weather dependent and subject to change due to inclement weather.
