Women’s basketball announces schedule for 2024-25 non-league season

STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern women’s basketball team has announced its non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2024–25 season, which consists of seven games and two tournaments before Sun Belt Conference play begins.

As previously announced, the Eagles will open the 2024-25 season in Ohio on Monday, November 4th as part of the MAC/SBC Challenge. Georgia Southern will then travel to Jacksonville to face the University of North Florida on Saturday, November 9th.

The Eagles’ first home game of the 2024-25 season will be against Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday, November 12th, with the game scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. at Hanner Fieldhouse. Georgia Southern will then host Longwood on Saturday, November 16th, also tentatively scheduled at Hanner, followed by an away game at George Washington on Monday, November 23rd.

The Eagles’ first tournament action will be over the Thanksgiving holiday when Georgia Southern travels to Rutgers to compete in the Battle On The Banks tournament in Piscataway, NJ. The Eagles will face Maryland-Eastern Shore on Friday, November 29th and then host Rutgers on Saturday, November 30th.

December begins with the first scheduled women’s basketball contest at the new Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center on Thursday, December 5th at 6 p.m. against Jacksonville University. This will be followed by the annual Kids Field Trip Day game on Friday, December 13th at 11 a.m. against Coastal Georgia, also scheduled to be played at the Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center.

The Eagles’ final non-conference tournament will be a three-game event at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, scheduled for Wednesday, December 18 through Saturday, December 21. The Eagles will face Wright State, Florida Atlantic and host Grand Canyon during the tournament.

The final non-conference game will be on Saturday, February 1st, as the return match of the MAC/SBC Challenge. The Eagles will host a MAC opponent to be announced at 1 p.m. that day.

Season ticket information for the upcoming 2024-25 women’s basketball season will be announced shortly.
