After a threat, operations at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office are back to normal

Operations are back to normal and roads are reopened after the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office received a bomb threat Friday afternoon.

The sheriff’s office said it was forced to evacuate the buildings after receiving the threat shortly before 2 p.m. The streets between Congress Avenue and Kirk Road were closed while PBSO investigated.

In a social media post, the sheriff’s office said it had deployed its bomb squad, a helicopter, bomb-sniffing dogs and all available traffic officers to investigate.

During the threat, the sheriff’s office premises on Gun Club Road, between Congress Avenue and Kirk Road, were immediately evacuated.

The Palm Beach District Courts on Gun Club Road were also evacuated while the Department of Corrections sought shelter on site.

The sheriff’s office said that as of 3:30 p.m., after a “thorough investigation was completed,” all locations were safe and regular operations could resume.

Investigators have not mentioned whether anyone was arrested for making the threat.
