Libya’s state-owned National Oil Corporation (NOC) and its subsidiary, the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), today announced the launch of a “comprehensive reforestation campaign” for all company sites.
The announcement followed a meeting between the NOC’s Director of Sustainable Development and the Chairman of AGOCO’s Management Committee in Benghazi on Thursday.
The meeting discussed ways to improve cooperation in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development. It was ultimately agreed to launch a comprehensive reforestation campaign at all the company’s sites to create more green spaces, improve air quality and contribute to achieving sustainable development.
The parties also agreed to form a working group to identify suitable locations for tree planting and to develop a concrete timetable for the implementation of the campaign.
