Israeli forces shoot dead a child and injure others near Qalqilia |

On Friday, Israeli forces shot a Palestinian child and injured dozens of citizens while cracking down on an anti-settlement demonstration in the village of Kufur Qaddoum, east of Qalqilia in the northwestern West Bank.

Before the weekly march against the settlements, occupation troops entered the village and surrounded the Omar Bin Al-Khattab Mosque, the meeting point for the weekly marches.

According to media sources, occupation soldiers fired live ammunition, stun grenades and tear gas canisters at the population, leaving one child shot in the leg and others suffering inhalation injuries.

Sources added that a 14-year-old child was shot in the leg with live ammunition; his condition was stable and he was taken to a hospital in Nablus.

Dozens of citizens suffered the toxic effects of inhaling tear gas and were treated on site by local paramedics.

In 2003, the Israeli occupation authorities closed the main road to the village in favor of the illegal Israeli colonialists, who now have unrestricted access to the road.

The road closure forces Palestinian citizens to travel longer distances to reach the city of Nablus, the nearest major commercial center.

Every Friday afternoon, Palestinian citizens meet locally to express their opposition to ongoing illegal colonization.
In a similar news story, it was reported that illegal Israeli colonists had killed the young man. Rashid Mahmoud Abdel Qader Seddah23, and seriously wounded another in a large-scale attack on the population of the village of Jit, east of Qalqilia.

About 100 settlers, under army protection, attacked the village of Jit and burned four Palestinian-owned houses and six vehicles, while soldiers prevented civil defense teams from extinguishing the fire.
