A bride has asked her bridesmaids to cover the costs of her cancelled wedding.

In a Reddit post on the “Wedding Shaming” subreddit, one of her bridesmaids took to the platform to complain about everything that went wrong at the wedding.

“She refused to invite my best friend, who she claims to be good friends with, because she thinks we are a lesbian couple. But we are not,” she wrote, explaining the first incident.

The bride, named Dana, then ordered the wedding party to buy a $2,000 dress and forbade her fiancé, named Josh, from inviting women to the wedding who were not related to him.

The Reddit poster added, “One of the girls in the wedding party doesn’t drink for religious reasons. Dana accused her of being pregnant in front of her parents and almost kicked her out of the house. She wasn’t pregnant and was kicked out of the wedding party. However, she was in a class of her own and never spoke badly about Dana. She just said she couldn’t come. We found out practically the day of the wedding.

“She tried to get us to cancel our family vacations and go to a bachelorette party with her instead. I also work full time during the holidays, so I told her that wasn’t going to happen. Other bridesmaids said similar things, and she let it go.”

The bride’s behavior only got worse on the day of the wedding. She had a “meltdown” when her flower girl got chicken pox and canceled. She threatened to sue the flower girl’s mother if she didn’t show up.

“It must have been about five minutes before the wedding was about to start when the maid of honor came to me and told me the wedding was canceled. I asked her what happened,” the Reddit post continued.

The maid of honor – who was also Josh’s older sister – told the bridesmaid that her brother had caught Dana having a “quickie” with his uncle.

The maid of honor revealed that the bride’s father had told his daughter she would have to pay for the wedding on her own because of her behavior. “I thought that was the end of it,” the bridesmaid wrote. “I decided to stay out of this mess. Until less than an hour ago I got a call from Dana demanding $5,000 to cover her cancellation costs.”

“According to Dana, it was our duty as the bridal party to pay her cancellation fees. I told her no, of course, and that she might as well lose my number. I will never speak to that woman again.”

After the release, many people took to the comments section to express their dismay at everything that had happened at a wedding.

“It’s good that he got out of the wedding, but how could he not have realized he was making a huge mistake before? Not being able to invite non-family women is a huge red flag,” asked one commenter.
